Richard Holmes received his undergraduate degree from the University of Dayton and his Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University. Mr. Holmes is currently admitted to practice in multiple states and jurisdictions.
West Michigan's only invited member of the Trucking Industry Defense Association, Mr. Holmes is a truck lawyer that is active in the Defense Research Institute, and is Michigan's liaison to the subcommittee on trucking law. His primary area of practice is the representation of the motor carrier industry throughout the United States and Eastern Canada, and he has successfully tried multiple heavy trucking catastrophic injury cases. Mr. Holmes also assists the commercial transportation firms in the preparation of key documents necessary for the beginning of, operation, and purchase of trucking and other commercial entities.

Mr. Holmes served on the Council of the Negligence Section for the State Bar of Michigan and co-authored A Practical Guide to Depositions in Michigan, published by the Institute of Continuing Legal Education. He is a frequent lecturer on the representation of parties in transportation claims as well as trial tactics and regulatory compliance in the United States and Canada.
